MYA History
Middle Years Alternative for the Arts and Humanities is a small school that allows us to provide structure and individual attention to our student body.
MYA was established in 1974 as a small, alternative, academic program with a strong focus on the humanities.
The strength of our humanities program, the outstanding reputation of our faculty and alumni, enables us to attract a diverse group of students with a wide range of abilities.
Our rigorous academic coursework includes links to universities, museums, theaters, and corporate institutions in the area. Each year, MYA students participate in a rich variety of field trips, grants, and sponsored events that supplement classroom instruction and provides hands on learning experiences. This emphasis gets academic results.
